(A) Solar energy: –
There are many possibilities of solar energy in India; Because in most parts of the country, the sun spends its rays 250–300 days a year. Photovoltaic cell systems are used to obtain energy from the Sun. The photovoltaic cell converts the rays from the sun into energy. There is a possibility of generating about 5 thousand trillion units of electricity every year in the form of solar energy in our country, for which work needs to be done at a rapid pace. Solar energy has been in operation in India for the last 25–30 years.
To promote solar energy in the year 2010, the government started the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, which aims to rid the country of the energy crisis through solar energy by the year 2022. Today the telecom towers of the country are using 5 thousand crore liters of diesel every year, this diesel can be saved by using solar energy.

Wind or wind power is another important source of renewable energy. In ancient times, wind power was used to sail the boat. Wind energy is being used to generate electricity in China, Afghanistan, Persia, Denmark, California.
Power generation of wind energy is going on in the states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan etc. in India. There are many possibilities of wind energy in India. (D) Geothermal energy: –
It is energy from the earth. Geothermal energy originates from hot, molten rocks in the depths of the Earth. A tunnel is dug from this source to the hot region of the earth to get energy at such places, through which water is transported there and steam is produced by running a turbine.
There are about 113 signals in India, which is expected to produce about 10 thousand MW power. The cost of electricity generation from geothermal energy is the same as the electricity generated from hydro energy. India will have to raise large amount of necessary resources to use geothermal energy, only then this energy can be availed.
(4) Biomass and Biofuels: –
Agriculture and forestry residues (biomass / biomass) are also being used to obtain energy. About 90 percent of India’s population uses biomass as fuel for cooking. Wood, cow dung and weeds are the main biomass from which biogas is produced. Ethanol is made from sugars such as sugarcane, mahua, potatoes, rice, barley, corn and beetroot.
It is used as fuel by mixing in petrol. The Indian government wants to mix up to 10 percent of this with petrol, which will require 266 million liters of ethanol per year, but the sugar mills producing ethanol have just offered to supply 140 million liters of ethanol to the government.

About 23,700 MW of electricity can be produced annually from them in India, but currently only 2,500 MW of electricity is being produced from them.
