At the same time, the book named ‘Aurea of Jacobus de Vorazin’, compiled in 1260, also mentions St. Valentine, according to which Rome was ruled by Emperor Claudius in the third century. According to him, marriage would have reduced the power and intelligence of men. That is why he issued an order that none of his soldiers or officers would marry. But Saint Valentine not only opposed this order but also married.

The protest spread like a thunderstorm and other soldiers and officers of Emperor Claudius also married. Angry at this, Claudius executed Saint Valentine on 14 February 269.
