- When someone post rumours , threats and fake or embarrassing information on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram etc.
- When someone takes part in text or message wars which occur when bullies gang up on the victim and send many texts.
- Some times people Change the victim’s online profile and include sexual, racist or other inappropriate things.
- Steal the victim’s password and chatting with other people and misuse the victim’s account.
- Sharing a video of something humiliating and embarrassing of the victim.
Effects of Cyberbullying –
When someone makes you a victim of cyberbullying, then you start feeling guilty. You feel that everyone is trying to harm you in some way. you feel lonely and helpless.

- If someone bothers you on Facebook, then ignore him or block that person or you can also report to Facebook.
- If you see any comment or post or any video on Facebook in which you or someone is being trolled, you can report to Facebook. There are three points to the right of each post where you will get the option to report. The Facebook team will suspend that content or that person’s account. You can also do this on other social networking sites like Instagram, Twitter, What’s app etc.
- If someone misbehaves with you, you can also do a police complaint. For this, you have to take a screenshot of that message or photo. This will play the role of evidence in your case.
- If you do not like someone or you have a quarrel with him, do not bring your estrangement on social media nor bring social media quarrels to your personal life. You have to make a balance between your social media life and your personal life.
- The online world is not as beautiful as it seems, so before making anyone a friend, collect full knowledge about him/her.
- Avoid sharing your personal details on social media like your address, phone number, mobile number, pictures of kids and their name and information about your personal relationship, and your future plans etc.
- Never share your bank details or credit card details on social media platforms.

It is not possible to stop your child’s online activities, but we should let them know about cyberbullying. They should explain what to do if someone is harassing them online. They should explain that if someone is abusing them then what is their right, how can they report it. Avoiding cyber bullying is possible only when you are aware and use social media properly.
